The reading was 0.3-0.4 percentage points lower than expected by analysts, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

In 2022, Poland’s gross domestic product expanded by 5.3 percent, according to the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) agency.

Poland’s central bank in November predicted that the country's GDP would grow 0.3 percent in 2023, followed by 2.9 percent in 2024 and 3.6 percent in 2025.

Poland’s parliament this month approved the country's budget for 2024, which expects the economy to grow 3 percent this year.
