The EU executive on Thursday predicted that the Polish economy would expand 3.5 percent next year, maintaining its projection from November.
"Economic growth in Poland in 2024 will accelerate to 2.7 percent," the European Commission said in its Winter 2024 Economic Forecast.
"Private consumption is expected to be the main driver of growth, supported by rising real wages, additional government social support and declining inflationary pressures," it added.
The EU executive also predicted that Polish GDP growth "will accelerate to 3.2 percent in 2025 due to strong private consumption and investment growth, driven by EU funds."
Polish President Andrzej Duda in late January signed into law the country’s budget for 2024, which expects the economy to grow 3 percent this year.
Poland's gross domestic product expanded by 0.2 percent in 2023, according to a preliminary estimate by the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) agency.
