Higher minimum wage for Poles

The minimum wage increased in Poland to PLN 4,300 (EUR 995, USD 1,070) a month from July 1, up from PLN 4,242 in the first half of this year, officials have confirmed.

Meanwhile, the minimum hourly rate went up to PLN 28.10 (EUR 6.50, USD 7) as of Monday, from PLN 27.70 in the first half of 2024.

These pay floors will remain in effect throughout the second half of this year.

Poland’s government last month proposed a plan to increase the country’s minimum wage to PLN 4,626 (EUR 1,064, USD 1,148) a month from next year.

Meanwhile, the minimum hourly rate would go up to PLN 30.20 (EUR 6.95, USD 7.50) effective January 1, 2025, officials have said.

The average gross Polish monthly wage in May was PLN 7,999.69 (EUR 1,853, USD 1,985), the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) office reported this month.
