Polish industrial production up 1.1% y/y in June: Eurostat

Poland's industrial production rose by 1.1 percent in June, compared with the same month a year earlier, the European Union’s statistics agency has reported.

Greece boasted the largest year-on-year increase in seasonally-adjusted industrial production in the EU in Juneat 9.5 percent, followed by Cyprus in second place, with 8.8 percent, and Malta in third place, with 6.3 percent, according to the Eurostat agency.

Among member states for which data were available, Ireland reported the steepest annual decrease in industrial production in June, at 17.4 percentwhile Croatia recorded an 8.3 percent drop, the agency's data showed.

The agency said on Wednesday that seasonally-adjusted industrial production in the EU as a whole decreased by 3.2 percent in June in year-on-year terms.

Poland’s statistics office, which uses a different methodology, reported last month that Polish industrial production increased 0.3 percent in June compared with the same month a year earlier.

Meanwhile, the country's seasonally-adjusted industrial production went up by 1.8 percent in year-on-year terms in June, while increasing 1.3 percent month on month, the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) agency said.
