Poland stands as India's top trade and investment partner in Central and Eastern Europe. While current economic ties between the two countries may not be remarkable, certain industries hold considerable potential for dynamic growth, as noted by "Puls Biznesu".

Experts see the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Poland in 45 years as an opportunity to boost trade between the two countries, which currently represents less than 1%.

"Puls Biznesu" notes that issues such as visa regulations, which are complicated by lengthy consular procedures, need to be resolved first. Additionally, the limited number of flights between Warsaw and New Delhi and Mumbai poses a challenge to bilateral relations.

Today’s agenda includes a meeting with Polish companies investing in India.

Poland exports primarily machinery and mechanical equipment, electronic equipment, minerals, non-ferrous metals, and plastics to India. Conversely, India exports electronics, iron, steel, pharmaceuticals, and clothing to Poland. There is still considerable potential for growth in the AI sector and the gaming industry, according to pb.pl.

Last year, Polish investments in India amounted to $685 million, while Indian investments in Poland exceeded $3 billion. From 2013 to 2023, bilateral trade between Poland and India grew by 264%, from $1.151 billion to over $4 billion. Polish exports to India totaled $1.7 billion, while imports from India to Poland were $2.32 billion.

The share of India in Poland’s merchandise exports is continually increasing, as is the Indian diaspora in Poland, which has grown tenfold over the past decade to approximately 23,000 people. This includes not only workers but also about 3,000 students studying at Polish universities.
