One of Poland's wealthiest individuals, who currently uses the last names of his successive wives, was originally named Zygmunt Krok. This entrepreneur is best known for founding Polsat, one of Poland's largest television networks, and for his significant contributions to the telecommunications, media, real estate, and energy sectors.

He is currently looking to contribute to the construction of Poland's first nuclear power plant, aligning with the country’s efforts to diversify its energy sources and promote clean energy initiatives.

Polsat owner removes his own children from company boards

WP reports that there is a dispute between Solorz-Żak's current wife and the billionaire's children.

The details of this matter were covered by "Gazeta Wyborcza." As reported by the newspaper, the billionaire's children - Piotr Żak, Aleksandra Żak, and Tobias Solorz - sent letters to the four main companies owned by their father (Cyfrowy Polsat, Telewizja Polsat, Polkomtel, and Netia), advising managers to be cautious when following orders from individuals who have recently gained such authority and raised doubts about their qualifications.

Solorz's children advised their staff to carefully examine any potentially questionable documents before signing them, while also stating that they have lost contact with their father and are unaware of his whereabouts, as media reports suggest he is on vacation in Italy.

"Gazeta Wyborcza" reported that the reason for the children's actions is their fear that individuals connected to the largest shareholder of the Polsat Group - TiVi Foundation from Liechtenstein - might attempt to illegally seize control of the businesses, jeopardizing their stability.

In his letter to the group's employees, Zygmunt Solorz-Żak stated that the involvement of his children on the boards "does not contribute to greater stability in the companies, nor to building a better future for them."

According to Forbes' 2024 list of the richest people, Zygmunt Solorz has a net worth of 7.72 billion PLN, placing him in 7th position in the ranking.
