The deal marks the first time a Polish company will deliver military equipment to the South Korean army, and strengthens Poland’s growing reputation as a supplier of advanced military technology to international customers.
The contract was signed on Wednesday during the Korea Army International Defense Industry Exhibition, the largest such trade show in Asia, by WB Group CEO Piotr Wojciechowski and DAPA Director General Jae Joon Chung.
Government officials from both countries were also present, including Polish Deputy Defense Minister Paweł Bejda.
The agreement includes the delivery of 10 Warmate 3 systems, consisting of nearly 200 combat and training units.
The Warmate 3 is a loitering munition system that can be operated in swarms and various formations, designed for a wide range of military missions. The drone can be used autonomously or integrated with vehicle-mounted control stations.
Already in use by the Polish army and several NATO allies, Warmate has proven effective in environments with high electronic warfare interference and disrupted satellite navigation signals.
The system is highly portable, and can be deployed from nearly any location, including at high altitudes and over water.
It serves as an alternative to anti-tank guided missiles, offering a significantly longer range and the ability to observe and engage targets with greater flexibility. It is equipped with modules that automate most flight phases, while the operator remains in full control during the target engagement phase.
