Home completions 10.5% down y/y in Poland in first 10 months of 2024

Builders in Poland completed 10.5 percent fewer homes in the first 10 months of this year than in the same period in 2023, the country’s statistics office has reported.

Around 162,500 housing units were completed nationwide between the start of January and the end of October, the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) agency said on Thursday.

It added that the number of dwellings under construction, at around 843,200 as of the end of last month, was 4.1 percent higher than the year before.

Meanwhile, overall output in Poland's construction-and-assembly sector fell by 9.6 percent in October in year-on-year terms, while increasing by 1.9 percent month on month, the state-run statistics agency also reported.

Builders completed around 220,400 new homes in Poland last year, a decrease of 7.6 percent from 2022, Statistics Poland said earlier this year in a preliminary estimate.
