Poland sets agricultural priorities for upcoming EU presidency

During its upcoming presidency in the EU Council, Poland will focus on the Common Agricultural Policy, food security, and rural development, according to Agriculture Minister Czesław Siekierski.

The apple has been officially announced as the symbol of Poland's EU Presidency in 2025.

Poland will aim to improve small businesses' access to breeding advancements and continue reviewing the European Green Deal to ensure environmentally friendly solutions that are also acceptable to farmers.

Minister Siekierski announced work on developing genomic techniques to help plants tackle climate challenges.

The minister also emphasized the importance of rural development and securing funding from various sources.

As part of the presidency, Poland will organize key meetings and conferences, including an informal meeting of EU agriculture ministers in June in Warsaw.
