KAS officers stopped the truck on the A4 highway near Jędrzychowice. The driver, coming from Germany, attempted to transport 25 tons of waste in the form of shredded plastics into Poland.

"The recipient did not have the necessary permit for waste processing and was unable to recover the plastics in accordance with regulations," said Agnieszka Rzeźnicka-Gniadek, spokeswoman for the Wrocław Customs Chamber.

The trailer and its cargo were secured. The recipient faces a fine ranging from 10,000 PLN to 1 million PLN (approximately 2,350 EUR to 235,000 EUR).

The importer will also be required to pay for the waste disposal or return it to the sender under customs supervision.

In 2024, officers from the Lower Silesian KAS prevented the illegal import of nearly 65 tons of waste.
