Polish Solaris buses enter U.S. market with first contract

The delivery of the ordered electric buses to the North American market is scheduled for the second half of 2026. The vehicles will be built using the latest technologies that the Polish company has been developing over the past several years.

„We have just achieved a milestone step towards the execution of our strategy of entering the North American market by signing our first American contract for electric buses with King County Metro. The operator provides transit service to the city of Seattle, WA and 34 other cities” - the company Solaris Bus proudly announced through its network.

„The agreement includes the delivery of two 40-foot battery electric buses and two 60-foot articulated buses, with an option to supply up to 12 additional units. The vehicles are scheduled for delivery in the second half of 2026” - it was added in the statement.

"We strive to position Solaris as the preferred supplier of zero-emission buses in North America," stated Javier Iriarte, CEO of Solaris.

The manufacturer assures that the solutions to be used for this order will include advanced electric drive systems, proprietary battery integration technology, and innovative connectivity features that have been tested on the European market.

Solaris, which set its sights on entering the North American market as part of its 2026 strategic plan, has already delivered over 5,000 zero-emission vehicles to nearly 30 countries, with the latest agreement marking a significant milestone for the company.
