Data from the BaseLinker Index—measuring the health of Poland’s e-commerce sector—shows that December sales rose by 0.9% compared to November. More notably, year-on-year results were “significantly higher,” reflecting robust holiday shopping activity.
Key findings include:
- Orders Up: The number of orders in December grew by 8.3% year-on-year.
- Basket Size: The average order value increased by 2.3%.
- Domestic vs. Cross-Border: Domestic sales jumped 10.2%, while cross-border sales climbed 13.8%. Though international trade accounts for 17.3% of Polish e-tailers’ revenue—slightly above last year’s share—it dipped a bit from November levels.
- Top Categories: Supermarket goods, home & garden, and health & beauty led the charge in sales growth.
Analysts say these gains underscore the resilience of Polish e-commerce, which entered 2025 on an optimistic footing thanks to a strong year-end sales period.
