Trump also tapped Sean Curran, a longtime U.S. Secret Service agent who oversaw his security detail, to lead that agency.

EU posting for a fast-food veteran

Puzder ran CKE Restaurants—home to Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr.—for 17 years.

“Andy will do an excellent job representing our Nation’s interests in this important region,” Trump said on Truth Social.

Puzder previously faced scrutiny over alleged employment of undocumented workers, poor labor practices, and domestic violence, forcing him to withdraw from consideration as labor secretary in 2017. If confirmed, he would replace Mark Gitenstein, who served under President Joe Biden.

Secret service leadership shake-up

On the same day, Trump announced Sean Curran’s nomination to head the U.S. Secret Service. Curran, who led the presidential detail responsible for Trump’s protection, was with him during an assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Media oversight role

Trump also picked conservative commentator and activist Brent Bozell to oversee the U.S. Agency for Global Media, which supervises public broadcasters such as Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and Voice of America. Bozell, once a Trump critic, is known for highlighting perceived liberal bias in the media. His son was among over 1,000 individuals pardoned by Trump after convictions related to the January 6 Capitol riot.
