On Monday morning, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk met with Microsoft Vice Chair and President Brad Smith, as confirmed by the Prime Minister’s Office via social media.

Brad Smith oversees Microsoft’s initiatives at the intersection of technology and society, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and sustainability. Tusk previously met with Smith in June last year to discuss security issues and the development of Poland’s AI Valley.

Microsoft has been present in Poland since 1992 and has invested $1 billion in cloud computing infrastructure and training programs for IT professionals, teachers, and students. The company has also established the Microsoft Technology Center in Warsaw and the Azure Poland Central hub, the first cloud data center in Central and Eastern Europe.

Tusk’s meeting with Smith is part of a series of discussions with global tech leaders, including a recent meeting with Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai.
