Cross-border e-commerce is booming in Poland, now accounting for nearly 20% of the country’s total online sales, with its share continuing to grow. More than one-third of Polish online shoppers buy from foreign platforms, and Chinese sellers dominate the market, making up 52% of all cross-border purchases.

Poland ranks among the top countries globally for buying Chinese goods online, trailing only the Czech Republic and Hungary in Europe, while surpassing Germany, France, and even the U.S.

Statistics cited by Rzeczpospolita show that 52% of Poles’ international purchases come from China, far exceeding those from Germany (15%) and the UK (6%).

However, this trend may soon slow down due to planned changes in EU customs regulations, which could increase the cost of imported goods. At the same time, more Polish e-commerce businesses are expanding internationally, focusing on neighboring markets.

Cross-border sales are growing faster than domestic e-commerce, offering promising opportunities for Polish retailers.
