There were around 79,700 people without jobs across the nation at the end of June, up by 14,200 from a month earlier, according to the government.
The state-run Statistics Poland agency (GUS) reported last month that the Polish jobless rate had dropped to 5 percent in May, from 5.2 percent in April.
Meanwhile, the European Union's Eurostat statistics agency, which uses a different methodology, estimated on Thursday that unemployment in Poland stood at 3.3 percent in May, marking the third-lowest rate in the 27-nation bloc.
