Polish MPs OK government’s handling of 2024 budget

Poland’s lawmakers have approved the government’s handling of the country’s 2024 budget.

The lower house of parliament on Friday voted 237 to 202, with no abstentions, to give the government a clean bill of health over last year’s budget and to adopt its report on how the budget panned out, Poland’s PAP news agency reported.

Poland finished 2024 with a budget deficit of around PLN 210.9 billion (EUR 49.6 billion, USD 58.2 billion)according to the government's report.

Government revenue totalled PLN 623.4 billion, while spending stood at PLN 834.3 billion, the report said.

The Polish economy expanded by 2.8 percent last year, according to an estimate by the country’s statistics office.
