Malta had the lowest jobless rate in the EU in October, at 3.1 percent, followed by Poland and the Czech Republic tied in second place, each with 3.2 percent, according to the Eurostat agency.
Meanwhile, Spain had the highest seasonally-adjusted jobless rate in the EU, at 10.5 percent, and Finnish unemployment was the second-highest at 9.8 percent, according to the latest available data.
Eurostat reported that the EU average for October was 6 percent, stable compared with September and up from 5.8 percent in October 2024.
Poland's statistics office GUS, which uses a different methodology, reported last month that the Polish jobless rate held steady at 5.6 percent in October, unchanged from September.
