The latest jobless figure came in slightly below an earlier estimate of 5.9 percent from the labour ministry.
There were around 906,400 people without jobs nationwide at the end of July, up from 901,500 a month earlier, according to the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) agency.
According to the European Union's Eurostat statistics agency, which uses a different methodology, unemployment in Poland stood at 3.1 percent in June, marking one of the lowest rates in the 27-nation bloc.
