The Czech Republic recorded the lowest jobless rate in the bloc in August, at 3.2 percent, while Poland tied for second place with Malta and Slovenia, each with 3.4 percent, according to the Eurostat agency.
Meanwhile, Finland had the highest seasonally-adjusted jobless rate in the EU, at 10.5 percent, and Spanish unemployment was the second-highest at 10 percent, according to the latest available data.
Eurostat reported last week that the EU average for August was 6.1 percent, stable compared with July and up from 6 percent in August 2025
Poland's statistics office GUS, which uses a different methodology, reported last month that the Polish jobless rate held steady at 5.8 percent in August, unchanged from July.
