The change is expected to come into force on October 1, though under initial plans it was to be introduced from the beginning of next year, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
Under the cut backed by ministers on Tuesday, personal income tax will be reduced for everyone earning less than PLN 85,528 (USD 22,537, EUR 20,087) a year.
Poland is due to hold parliamentary elections in October or November.
The governing conservative Law and Justice party won a landslide in elections in late 2015 and will be bidding for a second term in power.
The planned tax change will now be debated by parliament.
