The organiser of the forum, Zygmunt Berdychowski, praised Morawiecki, a former banker, as a man who had brought good business practices—such as efficient management—into politics.
Berdychowski pointed out that many analysts had been wrong when they predicted an impending economic crisis and a collapse of public finances in Poland.
“The winner of this year's award has done a great deal” to prevent such a scenario, Berdychowski added at the award ceremony on Wednesday evening.
Morawiecki's governing Law and Justice (PiS) party has introduced a swathe of new welfare benefits in an effort to reduce social inequalities in Poland.
Meanwhile, Morawiecki announced last month that his government had approved a plan to balance the country’s budget next year for the first time in recent history.
In parliamentary elections on October 13, Morawiecki's Law and Justice party is bidding for a second term in power following a landslide win in 2015.
Morawiecki will stay on as Poland’s prime minister if the country’s ruling conservatives win the vote, his deputy said on Wednesday.
The annual Krynica Economic Forum, which started on Tuesday in the southern Polish resort town of Krynica-Zdrój, is billed as the largest conference of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe.
