Economists polled by state news agency PAP had expected a reading of 4.1 percent.
The Central Statistical Office has revised upward its estimates of Polish GDP growth in the first and second quarters of this year.
The Polish economy expanded by 4.6 percent in the second quarter of 2019, after 4.8 percent growth in the first quarter, the state-run statistics agency reported on Thursday.
The Central Statistical Office previously estimated that Polish GDP grew 4.5 percent in the second quarter and expanded by 4.7 percent in the first quarter of this year.
Poland’s central bank forecast in a report released this week that the country’s GDP would grow by 4.3 percent in 2019 as a whole.
Central bank chief Adam Glapiński said last month that the Polish economy was set to lose some of its momentum amid a global slowdown, but added the country’s GDP growth would remain solid.
The Polish economy grew 5.1 percent in 2018, according to Central Statistical Office.
The European Commission last week lowered its forecast for Polish economic growth this year and next.
