"President Andrzej Duda has appointed Waldemar Buda to serve as minister for development and technology at the request of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki,” the Polish Prime Minister's Office said in a Twitter post.

Buda, until now a deputy minister for European funds and regional policy, replaces Piotr Nowak, who lost his job last month amid reports of a rift over access to the European Union's post-pandemic recovery cash.

The new Polish development and technology minister is a lawyer by training, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
