There were around 803,000 people without jobs across the nation at the end of September, down from 808,200 from a month earlier, according to the government.
The state-run Statistics Poland agency (GUS) reported last month that the Polish jobless rate had dropped to 4.8 percent in August, from 4.9 percent in July.
Meanwhile, the European Union’s Eurostat statistics agency, which uses a different methodology, estimated at the end of last month that unemployment in Poland was a modest 2.6 percent in August, the second-lowest rate in the 27-nation European Union.
