Polish inflation at 17.2% in September: stats office

Inflation in Poland stood at 17.2 percent in year-on-year terms in September, the country’s statistics office reported on Friday.

The reading was in line with a flash estimate released by the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) agency at the end of last month.

In Augustthe prices of consumer goods and services in Poland were 16.1 percent higher than in the same month a year earlier, according to the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) agency.

In JulyPoland's consumer price index stood at 15.6 percent, Statistics Poland reported.

The Polish central bank’s Monetary Policy Council last month raised key interest rates for the 11th consecutive time in a bid to tame inflation.
