There were around 797,500 people without jobs across the nation at the end of October, down by 4,200 from a month earlier, according to the government.
The state-run Statistics Poland agency (GUS) reported last month that the Polish jobless rate had dropped to 5.1 percent in September, from 5.2 percent in August, according to revised figures.
Meanwhile, the European Union’s Eurostat statistics agency, which uses a different methodology, estimated this month that unemployment in Poland was a modest 2.6 percent in September, unchanged from August and the second-lowest in the 27-nation European Union.
