Jacek Sasin made the statement during the 2023 World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on Tuesday, Polish state news agency PAP reported.
He was speaking at the official opening of Polish House, a national pavilion designed to promote doing business with Poland.
Sasin, who is also Poland’s minister for state assets, said that this year the Polish House in Davos would host meetings and discussions focused on two main topics, Russia's war in Ukraine and energy transition.
War in Ukraine
“First, the war in Ukraine and ways to respond to this war, to these challenges, and how to be forward-looking, how to reflect on the fact that war is not eternal, that thankfully there's always peace after war,” he told reporters.
Sasin added that talks would also cover plans for the postwar reconstruction of Ukraine.
Energy transition
“The second big challenge facing the world, facing Europe, but also in many ways facing Poland, is energy transition,” Sasin said.
He argued that "countries must respond to the energy crisis, which has meant a surge in the prices of traditional energy commodities," such as oil, gas and coal.
He told the gathering: “We’ll be meeting big foreign companies that want to participate in this energy transition, that want to strike partnerships with Polish firms in this area.”
He said business talks would focus on renewables as well as nuclear energy.
Sasin told reporters: “Poland is a good investment destination and Polish companies are attractive to foreign partners.”
Polish House
Located in the heart of Davos, the Polish House was launched in 2019 by President Andrzej Duda.
This year, the venue will host various panel discussions, bringing together more than 30 Polish and foreign politicians, experts, business leaders and journalists, according to officials.
Participants will discuss sustainable development, digital technology, security, the postwar reconstruction of Ukraine and prospects for Belarus, among other topics, the PAP news agency reported.
The programme is set to conclude on Thursday with Polish Night, an event promoting Poland, with the participation of President Duda, officials said.
The World Economic Forum runs until Friday.
Tuesday is day 328 of Russia’s war against Ukraine.
