He added that the European Rocket Artillery Summit conference is being held in Poland’s Toruń on Tuesday, where details of the project will be discussed. “The first HIMARS will arrive [in Poland] later this year,” Błaszczak said.
Poland acquired 20 sets of HIMARS high mobility rocket artillery in 2019 for a sum of USD 414 million. Those included 18 combat launchers and 2 practice launchers. Poland also expressed an interest in purchasing nearly 500 more launchers. In February this year, the United States responded positively to the request and agreed to a potential sale of 484 launchers, with a maximum value of USD 10 billion.
