Meanwhile, average wages in Poland's corporate sector in April increased by 12.1 percent compared with the same month a year earlier, the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) agency said.
The average gross Polish monthly wage last month was PLN 7,430.65 (EUR 1,640, USD 1,780), according to the statistical office.
The figures are for companies with more than nine employees.
Poland’s Family and Social Policy Minister Marlena Maląg this month estimated that the country's unemployment rate was 5.3 percent in April, down from 5.4 percent in March.
There were around 823,700 people without jobs across the nation at the end of April, down by 23,100 from a month earlier, according to the government.
