The EUR 150 million concept design comprises the mega-airport’s key facilities, including a passenger terminal, a railway station and a public transport interchange.
The presented vision for the mega transport hub includes a landside interchange plaza enriched by greenery and natural light, according to officials.
The CPK air hub, dubbed the Solidarity Transport Hub, is to be built near Warsaw by 2027.
Marcin Horała, a deputy minister for regional policy and the Polish government’s pointman for the construction of the mega-airport, told Radio Poland’s Danuta Isler after the presentation of the concept design: "It is very modern but it incorporates aspects of traditional Polish culture. The structure of the project, even its fabric - it is something between Gothic architecture and maybe some handcraft. But it is very modern, it is very open, there is a lot of light there. I think it is great."
