“The registered unemployment rate in Poland in August 2023 amounted to 5.0% and remained at the same level as in July 2023,” GUS wrote on the X social media platform.

The number of registered unemployed people in Poland totalled 782,500 in August, compared with 782,400 in July, Polish state news agency PAP reported.

GUS’s announcement is in line with an estimate published by the Ministry of Family and Social Policy on September 7, according to PAP.

According to the European Union’s Eurostat statistics agency, which uses a different methodology, unemployment in Poland was a modest 2.8 percent in July, unchanged from the previous three months and the third-lowest rate in the 27-nation European Union.
