The reading was in line with an earlier estimate by the government.
There were around 837,170 people without jobs across the nation at the end of January, compared with 788,200 a month earlier, according to the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) office.
The state-run statistics agency reported earlier this month that employment in Polish companies inched down 0.2 percent in January on average in year-on-year terms.
According to the European Union’s Eurostat statistics agency, which uses a different methodology, unemployment in Poland was a modest 2.7 percent in December, down from 2.8 percent the previous month and the second-lowest rate in the 27-nation bloc.
