There were around 846,500 people without jobs across the nation at the end of November, down by 18,300 from a year earlier, according to the government.
The state-run Statistics Poland agency (GUS) reported last month that the Polish jobless rate had risen to 5.4 percent in January, from 5.1 percent in December.
Meanwhile, the European Union’s Eurostat statistics agency, which uses a different methodology, estimated earlier this month that unemployment in Poland was a modest 2.9 percent in January, the second-lowest rate in the 27-nation bloc.
