There were around 824,100 people without jobs across the nation at the end of March, down by 22,800 from a year earlier, according to the government.
The state-run Statistics Poland agency (GUS) reported last month that the Polish jobless rate remained stable at 5.4 percent in February, unchanged from January.
Meanwhile, the European Union’s Eurostat statistics agency, which uses a different methodology, estimated earlier this month that unemployment in Poland was a modest 2.9 percent in February, the second-lowest rate in the 27-nation bloc.
