The state-controlled airline reported a net profit of more than PLN 1 billion (EUR 230 million, USD 250 million) for 2023, with sales revenue exceeding PLN 10 billion (EUR 2.3 billion, USD 2.5 billion).

LOT said it carried over 10 million passengers last year.

In July alone, the airline carried more than 1 million passengers.

During the entire summer season, from June to September 2023, the carrier handled 4.1 million passengers.

Its most popular flights were those from Warsaw to Toronto, New York and Chicago, while the most popular European routes were those from Warsaw to London, Vilnius and Amsterdam.

LOT also launched new destinations, connecting Poland with Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh, Tashkent in Uzbekistan, and Oradea in northwestern Romania.

The airline also resumed flights to the Greek capital Athens.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Wednesday announcedplan to reshape LOT and boost its fleet to more than 130 aircraft, from 76 in mid-2024.
