The country’s Energy Regulatory Office announced that electricity bills for households with annual consumption not exceeding two megawatt hours will rise by PLN 27.50 (EUR 6.25) per month. This change affects approximately 90 percent of consumers in Poland.

With the expiration of measures against high energy prices in July, some households will be eligible for an energy voucher. An estimated 3.5 million households can benefit from this support. The income thresholds for eligibility are set at PLN 2,500 (EUR 568) for single-person households and PLN 1,700 (EUR 386) per person for multi-person households.

The value exceeding these thresholds will proportionally reduce the support. Single-person households will receive PLN 300 (EUR 68), while multi-person households will get PLN 600 (EUR 136). These amounts will double for those using electric heating.

Household gas bills are also increasing, with the price of high-methane gas rising to PLN 239 (EUR 54) per megawatt hour, up from just over PLN 200 (EUR 45) per megawatt hour, where it was frozen until the end of June.

Analysts predict that the partial unfreezing of energy prices from July will contribute to a rise in inflation in Poland.
