The Czech Republic boasted the lowest jobless rate in the bloc in June, at 2.7 percent, while Malta and Slovenia trailed Poland in joint third place, each with 3.1 percent, according to the Eurostat agency.
Meanwhile, Spain had the highest seasonally-adjusted jobless rate in the EU, at 11.5 percent, and Greek unemployment was the second-highest at 9.6 percent, according to the latest available data.
Eurostat reported that the EU average for June was 6 percent, unchanged from May and stable compared with June 2023.
Poland's statistics office (GUS), which uses a different methodology, reported last month that the Polish jobless rate dropped to 4.9 percent in June, from 5 percent in May.
