Insurance firms, which have been intensifying their efforts since Friday, especially in southern and southwestern Poland, are sending adjusters to flood-affected areas to expedite assistance.
PIU President Jan Grzegorz Prądzyński emphasized that the situation is dynamic, and currently, the priority is saving lives and property. Damage assessments will be conducted once the immediate threat has passed.
Clients are receiving SMS alerts with warnings and requests for contact if they need financial support, with simplified procedures allowing for compensation within one day.
PIU advises flood victims to secure their property from further damage and document the damage, for example, by taking photos. It's crucial not to undertake repairs before reporting the damage and consulting with the insurer. Further instructions will be provided afterward.
The flood situation in Poland remains dynamic. “For now, everyone is focused on saving themselves and their property from the disaster. This is the most important. We will assist quickly with damage assessment and claims once the immediate threat to life and health has passed,” assured Prądzyński.
Based on the latest information confirmed by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, flood victims in Poland can receive up to 10,000 PLN (more than 2,300 EUR) in financial assistance.
