According to the Central Statistical Office (GUS), inflation increased in September 2024, with consumer prices climbing 4.9% compared to the same month last year and rising 0.1% from the previous month.

In the past month, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages in Poland rose by 4.7% compared to the previous year and increased by 0.2% from August 2024. Meanwhile, energy costs surged by 11.4%, while fuel prices for private transportation saw a slight decline of 0.2%.

Preliminary estimates indicate that prices for electricity, gas, and other fuels in Poland rose by 11.4% year-over-year and increased by 0.2% compared to August. In September 2024, the price index for these utilities reached 111.4, reflecting the annual rise.

The GUS will release complete data on September's inflation in mid-October.
