The paper suggests that this growth is just the beginning of a significant consumer trend.
While alcoholic drinks still account for a large share of consumer spending—Poles spent PLN 16.8 billion on vodka and PLN 22.8 billion on beer in 2023—these categories are seeing a decline, with consumer habits gradually shifting, the report notes, citing data from NielsenIQ.
"Non-alcoholic beers now account for over 7% of the total beer sales value, marking an almost 1% increase year-on-year," said Anna Wagner from NielsenIQ, quoted by the paper. She also pointed out that non-alcoholic options are making a significant impact in the wine category, especially in sparkling wines.
"Sales of non-alcoholic sparkling wines have grown by more than 50% in both value and volume, now representing 5% of all sparkling wine sales," she added.
NielsenIQ's data also indicates that the trend toward non-alcoholic drinks is gaining momentum across other beverage categories as well.
