Japan to support Poland’s green energy transition

Japan is to help Poland move away from coal as its main energy source, the Japanese government announced, as its representatives are scheduled to visit Warsaw.

According to public broadcaster NHK, Japanese government officials, including the deputy minister of economy and industry, aim to deepen cooperation in areas such as nuclear power and renewable energy.

According to NHK, “Warsaw hopes to accelerate its decarbonisation efforts by introducing advanced Japanese technology.”

During the visit to Poland, the Japanese side also intends to discuss the technical cooperation of Japanese companies in the construction of new nuclear power plants in Poland.
