The Polish courier, express, and parcel industry, which has historically seen robust growth, is now facing potential disruption.

The newspaper highlights that if the new U.S. president initiates a tariff war with China, Chinese companies may shift their focus toward European markets, including Poland. Such a move could lead to intensified competition from Chinese logistics operators, posing a threat to local Polish courier businesses, experts cited by Rzeczpospolita caution.

Economist Jarosław Janecki noted that rising U.S. tariffs on Chinese goods could signal a new trade war with Asia, prompting Chinese companies to expand their presence in Europe. "We are seeing signals of increased tariffs from the U.S., primarily targeting Chinese goods, which may lead Chinese businesses to pivot towards Europe," he told Rzeczpospolita.

Following his electoral victory, President-elect Donald Trump reaffirmed plans for strict immigration policies and a crackdown on trade with China, which could intensify trade tensions.
