The funds are set to be transferred to Poland's accounts later this week and will be used for home insulation, replacing heating systems, maintaining oncology hospitals, covering senior care costs, as well as for railway road repairs, new buses, high-speed internet, and offshore wind farms in the Baltic.
The payment was delayed for nearly two years due to concerns over Poland's rule of law and judicial independence.
However, the release of funds was approved following changes in the Polish government and judicial reforms.
Poland will ultimately receive €60 billion under the KPO, with €25 billion in grants and the remaining €34.5 billion covered by low-interest loans.
