Speaking at a debate on the future of transatlantic relations organized by the Union of Entrepreneurs and Employers (ZPiP), Mosbacher referenced the upcoming inauguration of Donald Trump for another term as U.S. President.
The American diplomat highlighted Trump’s statements emphasizing the need for European allies to take greater responsibility for their own security, stressing the importance of strengthening defense industries and production capacities in both Europe and the U.S.
Mosbacher highlights Poland's leading role in transatlantic relations
“I believe the relationship between the U.S. and Europe is very strong; in matters of security, we are interdependent. The U.S. understands this. (...) I think Poland is now the leader in transatlantic relations,” she said, underscoring Poland’s strategic role on NATO’s eastern flank, its position as a hub for supporting Ukraine, and its importance in facilitating the transit of goods from China to Western Europe.
Mosbacher expressed confidence that close U.S.-Polish cooperation will continue, stating that the “incoming U.S. administration understands Poland’s significance.”

The former U.S. ambassador to Poland (2018-2021) emphasized that Pete Hegseth, the incoming U.S. Secretary of Defense, views Poland as a model for NATO, and that Matthew Whitaker, the new U.S. representative to NATO, is expected to make Poland his first international visit.
The panelists included, alongside Georgette Mosbacher, Polish Minister of National Defense and Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Minister of Development and Technology Krzysztof Paszczyk, Ryszard Petru from the Economic and Development Committee, Paweł Kowal from the Foreign Affairs Committee, and Anthony Kim from The Heritage Foundation.
Ryszard Petru: Europe must cooperate with America despite uncertainty
The conference focused on the cooperation between Poland, the European Union, and the United States in three key areas: political, security, and economic, and featured discussion panels such as "The United States and the Security Architecture of Poland and Europe" and "Transatlantic Economic Cooperation and the Competitiveness of Poland and Europe."

Ryszard Petru, the chairman of the Economic Committee in the Polish Parliament, who attended the event, told Radio Poland's Danuta Isler:
At this moment, there is some uncertainty. Mr. Trump has said many things, some of which were radical, and I am pretty sure he won't be able to implement them. But in the long term, there is no other way – Europe has to cooperate with America.
