Meanwhile, the number of housing starts throughout 2024, at around 233,800, was 23.7 percent higher than in 2023, the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) agency said in a preliminary estimate.
It reported last week that the number of dwellings under construction, at around 834,800 as of the end of December, was 4.2 percent higher than the year before.
Overall output in Poland's construction-and-assembly sector fell by 8 percent in December in year-on-year terms, while increasing by 30.6 percent month on month, the state-run statistics agency also reported.
In 2023, Polish builders completed around 220,400 new homes, a decrease of 7.6 percent from 2022, according to Statistics Poland.
