There were around 848,000 people without jobs across the nation at the end of February, up by 10,400 from a month earlier, according to the government.
The state-run Statistics Poland agency (GUS) reported last month that the Polish jobless rate had risen to 5.4 percent in January, from 5.1 percent in December.
Meanwhile, the European Union’s Eurostat statistics agency, which uses a different methodology, estimated this month that unemployment in Poland stood at 2.6 percent in January, marking the lowest rate in the 27-nation bloc.
