The company said on Thursday it had agreed to acquire a 95.5-percent stake in Judge Logistics, the parent of Yodel, one of Britain’s largest parcel carriers.
The deal, executed by converting £106 million in existing convertible‑bond financing into equity, will cement InPost's position as the United Kingdom’s third‑largest independent logistics operator, behind Royal Mail and Evri, Polish state news agency PAP reported.
InPost said the merger will integrate door‑to‑door deliveries and its network of more than 10,000 UK parcel lockers under a single brand.
This follows a partnership launched in October in which Yodel began carrying parcels from InPost lockers to consumer doorsteps.
Combined annual parcel volumes are expected to reach around 300 million, with services offered to roughly 700 online retailers—equivalent to about an 8 percent share of the UK parcel market, according to estimates supported by Effigy Consulting.
InPost, which is based in the southern Polish city of Kraków, said the acquisition accelerates its British growth plan by five years.
'Pivotal moment in building InPost’s pan‑European footprint'
“This investment is a pivotal moment in building InPost’s pan‑European footprint,” CEO Rafał Brzoska said in a statement.
For 2024, InPost reported revenue growth of 23.5 percent year on year to PLN 10.9 billion (USD 2.9 billion) and a 33.5-percent rise in adjusted EBITDA to more than PLN 3.5 billion.
Parcel volume climbed 22 percent to 1.1 billion items, and the company installed over 11,500 new lockers across Europe, expanding its network by 32 percent.
