Polish passport ranked among most powerful in the world

Poland has come in third place in the Arton Capital Passport Index, a ranking of the world's passports according to the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa.

United Arab Emirates nationals are at the top of the ranking, with easy access, without requiring a visa in advance, to 180 countries out of the total of 199 covered by the index.

The No. 2 spot, with 173 countries, is shared by Germany, Sweden, Finland, Luxembourg, Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Austria and South Korea.

Poland shares 3rd place with Denmark, Belgium, Portugal, Norway, Ireland, the United States and New Zealand, with their passports giving easy access to 172 countries.

Poles can travel without a visa to 122 countries; in 50 others they obtain a visa on arrival.
