Nutka, who is a Jack Russell terrier, has been enjoying her retirement since last month, Polish state news agency PAP reported.

Justyna Pasieczyńska, a spokeswoman for Poland’s National Revenue Administration (KAS) said: “During her service, Nutka detected 150 kilograms of illegal drugs worth some PLN 10 million (EUR 2.2 million).”

The sniffer dog’s main task at the Chopin airport was to search passenger luggage for illegal substances, according to officials.

Nutka was able to search the luggage brought by the biggest plane landing in Warsaw, a Boeing 777, which carries some 300 suitcases, in one go, the PAP news agency reported.

She had also worked for the Polish police, the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Border Guard, according to officials.

On one occasion, Nutka helped detect more than 11 kilograms of heroin, worth PLN 4.5 million (EUR 1 million), hidden in suitcases with a false bottom, the PAP news agency reported.
